December Boys - First Award - Australian Writers Guild (AWG) Awards

A few weeks ago we let you know that scriptwriter Marc Rosenberg was nominated for the Feature Film Adaptation on December Boys for the Australian Writers Guild award, it is our Honor to announce to all of you that the film has gotten it's first award:

"December Boys, starring Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe, received the other top award of the night for Feature Film Adaptation, for scriptwriter Marc Rosenberg."

Dan and Emma Among Hottest Movie Stars of the Summer

The Washington Post is reporting that a survey was done by consumer research firm OTX and teen social networking site eCrush, this survey has many categories in it and one of them was who they thought were the hottest movie stars of the summer:

The teens in the survey chose Zac Efron as the hottest male movie star of the summer, followed by Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Shia LaBeouf and Daniel Radcliffe. The hottest female movie star of the summer was Jessica Alba, followed by Jessica Biel, Keira Knightley, Megan Fox and Emma Watson.

UPDATE 2: Dan and Emma Nominated for the British National Movie Award

Daniel and Emma has been nominated for the British National Movie Award for their performance in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The winners will be chosen by a public vote, the voting form will be available in cinemas, newspapers, magazine and online throughout the UK.

The ceremony will be held at London’s Royal Festival Hall and screened on ITV1 later this year.

I'll be updating this news with links for voting later this week.

A Few Bits About Dan and Emma

Here are some news about Dan and Emma.

Emma Watson's official site has confirmed that she's going to be starting in an upcoming BBC1 film entitled Ballet Shoes, Emma is going to be playing Pauline, the eldest of 3 orphaned sisters who lead a sheltered life until they begin at the Children's Academy of Dancing and Stage Training. Co-stars include actors like Richard Griffiths, Robert Hardy, Victoria Wood and Marc Warren.

In a new interview actor Jamie Bell (most known as Billy Elliot), was aske by the Sun about the rumor of him following star Daniel Radcliffe and strip for the stage show Equus, he denied this but he said that he is full of admiration for Daniel:

For the past two months Dan has been in the top 10 search Yahoo Top Cast/Crew , Emma along side with Dan were on the top 10 for quite some time, but for the last 3 weeks Dan has been spotted in this list without any other HP cast member, he goes from #1 to #4 then to #2 and now he is on #6, it looks like Dan is getting his name in the US media not just as Potter but as himself:

Thanks to the HarryPottertrio.com we have new pictures of Dan from Irland walking in the trailer area of the TV production set My Boy Jack, Dan was sporting a suite of that period but this time around no mustache, me thinks this can be the earlier scenes in the movie before he goes to war, a younger Jack.

New Projects for Emma Watson

I thought I had this news up about a few weeks ago, regarding Emma's new project next summer, so I apologize for not posting this bit of news, now there is another project for Emma that apparently will take place at the end of this month.


Emma's official website is stating that she was cast to voice the role of Princess Pea in the upcoming animated movie "The Tale of Despereaux," which is rumored to come out in December 2008. This will take place in the summer, in between breaks from the Harry Potter movies.

And the other project it is just a rumor for this moment until she or her representative confirm it. According to the Sunday Mirror Emma has been cast in the upcoming BBC adaptation of the children's tale "Ballet Shoes", in which she will play an orphan. She will be costarring alongside fellow Harry Potter actor Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon), Victoria Wood and Marc Warren. This will be a 90 minute T.V. drama and it is said to be "the centrepiece of the Beeb's Christmas line-up" for the BBC, filming starts at the end of this month:

Ballet Shoes follows the tale of three orphaned sisters who are adopted by an eccentric explorer and raised by his niece.

December Boys Premier In Australia

Thanks to Alana from the December Boys blog and to News.com.au, we have information about December Boys' premier in Australia.

"HARRY Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will walk the red carpet on September 9 at the Rivoli in Camberwell for his new Aussie-made film, December Boys.

Confidential had a sneak peek of the film last night, and Radcliffe's character is as far removed from his role in the Potter blockbusters as you could imagine.

He plays a young Aussie orphan from the Outback, and has to master an Australian accent, which, apart from a couple of slip-ups, the English-born and bred Radcliffe does very well.

Bring tissues when the film is released in a couple of months."

First Pictures of Dan in the Production of "My Boy Jack"

Thanks to the Daily Mail we have the first two pictures of Daniel Radciffe in the TV production of "My Boy Jack"

In his first TV drama role since finding fame as the schoolboy wizard, Radcliffe, who turned 18 last month, stars in the World War One film, 'My Boy Jack' where he trades his school uniform for the rather more mature attire of the Irish Guards.

The pictures shows Dan sporting a moustache and wearing a Irish Guards uniform...enjoy them!!!
