Emma Watson is to study at Ivy school

Emma Watson has announced which Ivy League school she'll be attending in the autumn.

The 19-year-old, who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise, previously said that she was attracted to American universities because of the anonymity she feels they can afford her.

The actress has now confirmed that she will be a student at Brown University in Rhode Island, People reports.

"I am [going to university in the autumn] - to Brown, which is an Ivy League establishment in the USA. I've got a place there to read literature," she said.

Her choice of school was also accidentally leaked by co-star Daniel Radcliffe in an interview with The Guardian, after speculation grew following her tour of US schools last October.

Watson recently admitted that she hoped her college roommate wouldn't be a Potter fan.

"I have to confess, I had a bit of a crush on Tom Felton in the earlier films, but never on Daniel or Rupert, they are just good friends," Contactmusic quoted Emma Watson as saying. However, Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, had recently confessed that he and Radcliffe had crush on Emma Watson. He told FHM magazine: "Emma's a pretty girl. Have Daniel or I ever hit on Emma? Well, she's quite popular with the cast. As for who has the worst crush on her - me or Radcliffe - I'd rather not say." The new film Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince will release on July 15.

Emma Watson has "no need for money in her life"

The 'Harry Potter' actress - estimated to be worth £13 million - will never agree to star in a  film purely for financial gain.LONDON - NOVEMBER 29 Emma Watson arriving at the premiere of 'Ano Una' at the Curzon Renoir on November 29, 2008 in London, England. (Photo by Fred DuvalFilmMagic)

Emma, 18, said: "The wealth side of it hasn't hit me yet because I have no need for money in my life. My life will not be motivated by money.

"I will never do a film because they're going to pay me a certain amount of money. It's liberating. It means I can hopefully make great choices."

The British actress also insists she has not adopted a lavish lifestyle despite starring in six 'Harry Potter' films, and still uses public transport.

She added to USA Today newspaper: "I have a more normal life than people expect. When I take public transport, people are like, 'That girl looks like the girl from 'Harry Potter', but it can't be her on the train.'

"I get stopped by people, but that's fine. I'd never want to be so famous that I couldn't live a normal life to a certain extent. I can't imagine anything lonelier, just not being able to be part of the real world and being trapped and locked in hotel rooms and cars."

Emma lends her voice to the character Princess Pea in new animated film 'The Tale of Despereaux' which opens in European cinemas from Friday (19.12.08).

Emma Watson featured in Flare Magazine

Source: SnitchSeeker
Emma Watson was featured in the November issue of Flare Magazine, in which she talked about filming Harry Potter, and her relationship with her co-stars.
The evidence of her success is compelling. At nine years old, she was among thousands of girls vying to play the coveted role of Hermione and her eagerness to thrive at the character slowed down shooting during Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. "I wanted everything to be so perfect. I would work so hard to memorize my lines and the scene; we would have to stop shooting because I was mouthing Rupert [Grint]'s and Dan [Radcliffe]'s lines at the same time. That's something I had to get over."

Seven years later, the young actor has graduated to blockbuster star status. She's learned to position herself in her best light, she's stopped looking straight into the camera, she knows the different between the key grip and a dolly, and she's just wrapped one of her most challenging scenes in the highly anticipated Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, slated for release in July 2009. "I had to cry for the first time when Hermione watches Ron kiss Lavender. It was difficult to bring up all that emotion and hurt in front of a full crew, and not just once, but over and over again from different angles."

Emma Watson Visits Yale University Campus

We previously reported that Emma Watson (Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films) visited Harvard University. It is now being reported that she visited Yale University yesterday as well. In their report, they gave her a little note of comparisons of Yale to Harvard. Read more to see what they had to say.
Magic came to Yale yesterday as campus was abuzz with excitement over the sighting of Emma Watson, the 18-year-old British starlet of Harry Potter fame, who received a private tour. One student said he spotted Watson eating in the Berkeley dining hall balcony with her “mum” and a Yale student. “People went nuts on campus, trying to touch her,” he said. In a brief conversation with Watson, perhaps better known as the character Hermione, the student said he learned the actress, who received straight A grades on her A-level exams, toured Harvard on Tuesday and Brown on Wednesday. Note to Emma: Yale is Hogwarts. Harvard is Azkaban.
