Hilary's Femme line hits stores next month
Hilary Duff's Femme for DKNY Jeans line doesn't hit racks until next month, but thanks to an ad campaign featuring the Duffster herself, we're getting a sneak peek at a few of the urban chic items.Hilary told Nylon magazine that her inspiration for the line was "just normal girls. I’ll be walking down the street and think, oh she looks cute! Especially being in New York is nice, because everyone has such unique styles. And it’s not people who have a ton of money or have a huge closet, but it’s people wearing what they love and having a unique way of putting it together."
The foundation of the collection is black denim, with items like tissue tees, strappy dresses and vinyl leggings (which Ms. Duff flaunts on her shapely gams in the ad pictured) rounding out the fall collection. Pieces range in price from $39 to $129.
With Hilary starring on "Gossip Girl" this upcoming season, we can't help but wonder if any of her New York-inspired threads will find their way onto Manhattan's elite. Costar Jessica Szohr has already been caught sporting pieces from the collection, so maybe it's only a matter of time until Jessica's Brooklyn hipster alter ego does the same.

Hilary stars alongside models Sophie Srej and Gracie Carvalho in a New York City street-inspired ad campaign. Combining Hilary’s personal style and the individuality of New Yorkers — the inspiration behind her designs — the Femme for DKNY Jeans fall ‘09 ads were shot on the Manhattan streets by Scott Schuman, best known for his street style blog The Sartorialist. GLAMOUR: what in that time of your life supistes querias be actress?
Hilary duff: I started acting very young, at age nine, was a very exciting hobby. I was still studying, so act was my extracurricular activity. At age 12 started it to take more seriously and then I realized that this was what I wanted to do the rest of my life.

G: you have been in the shade for a while is because you were working on some other project or because they want to be away for a while? Was a conscious decision or was something that just happened without foresee it?
HD: well, I have been doing many independent films that I have moved away from public view all the time and have prevented me attend events, but the truth if I wanted to take me a break from all this. I have been filming some small movies on several sides, I have therefore worked time I really needed away I. Wanted to be in my house. With my family, friends, my boyfriend and others. Comes a point at which these so busy that you start to alienate you your own work and that made everything what towards further monkeys interesting, so I take a while.
G: you have many fans around the world and you are also an example to follow to them, do what so seriously take you the role of be an example to follow the world?

Actress Hilary Duff will appear as a guest star on several episodes of The CW’s R-rated young adult drama has already found herself on the receiving end of sharp tongue-lashing from show bosses, who have ordered the 21-year-old to get to work on dropping a few pounds. Gossip Girl producers are reportedly concerned that the former star of Disney’s Lizzie McGuire isn’t waify enough to “fit in” with series skinny-minnies Blake Lively and Leighton Meester on the show’s New York City set.A Star source says: “Hilary is fuming. Hollywood Records knew they did wrong last year when they decided to release a "best-of" including Hilary Duff's biggest hits without her approval; sales were low because of the absent promotion. But now, they seem to beg for pardon. They will be releasing another "Best Of Hilary Duff" including a different tracklist (that is rumored to include songs like 'Weird', 'Hide Away', 'Happy', 'Burned', 'Who's That Girl?', 'The Getaway', 'Gypsy Woman') and the first single off of the album will be "Holiday", a song Hilary recorded before Hollywood Records decided to go for a best-of in order to finish her six-album contract with them and that the fans really liked. A video for "Holiday" will be shot in "Hawaii or on some very beautiful island" according to a Hollywood rep who also said that "even if Hilary's contract is over with [us], we want to re-release the compilation as a 'thank you/sorry Hilary Duff!' because since you're gone, sales have been disastrous and we really want you back!". The Depeche Mode-sampling hot 2008 single "Reach Out" (featuring world-renown rapper The Prophet) will be sent to radios again alongside "Holiday" which also will be played on radio (the first Hilary Duff song to make it on radio since February 2007's mega-successful "With Love"). Hilary Duff said she "had nothing to say except for the fact that she will be filming 'Holiday' for the fans because they've been more than supportive no matter when and why".
